The Anatomy Lesson

“The body keeps score, but what does it matter if no one will listen?”

What does it mean to be a prisoner in one’s body? How do we co-exist and thrive with the one body we have when we feel like it’s failing us? The Anatomy Lesson follows Gemma as she comes to terms with the ways she’s harmed her body, how it’s harmed her, and her journey to find peace co-existing with it. We follow as she undergoes medical procedures, experiences surreal trips inside herself, and struggles to love and inhabit the body that she never expected to live in.

The Anatomy Lesson had its premiere workshop performance as part of the CAMINOS Festival, curated by Aluna Theatre in September 2023 at the Factory Theatre in Toronto, Canada.

At Birth

“The cracks can still be showing and that’s ok. New and old at the same time.”

What follows is a journey covering themes of queer families, abortion rights in the South, and the pursuit of building community, no matter how untypical. How far will you go for your chosen family? A queer dark comedy on blurred family lines and friendship.

At Birth premiered in Dublin, IE at the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival, followed by runs at Barons Court Theatre, London UK, Prague Fringe Festival, Prague CZ, Out Front Theatre Company, Atlanta GA, Elite Studio Works, Nashville TN, Queerly Festival, NYC, NY.

A Drunk Lesbian Love Affair

"The fact is I love you. I am drunk, and I love you."

A provocative and tenderhearted one-woman show, A Drunk Lesbian Love Affair lets the audience into the mind and life of Sally, a queer twenty-something kid, trying to make sense of her life, who she wants to be in it - and who she wants to be with. The show chronicles the escapades of Sally and her “drunk lesbian lover” through a haze of whiskey and wine, exploring the vulnerability of love and sexuality, queerness, and coming into one’s own. This passion-filled comedy combines millennial discourse with poeticism and movement in the search for a sober love. A Drunk Lesbian Love Affair premiered at the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival in May 2019.

Twenty Minutes From Nowhere

"For a moment, that bar seemed like the centre of the universe. And I was a part of it."

He knows he’s gay. He knows where he lives. What next? 20 Minutes From Nowhere follows a man as he recounts the moments in his life surrounding his sexuality, whilst living on a small farm in Ireland. His family obligations have kept him on their farm in rural Kerry for his whole life. Now in his mid-thirties, he begins to long for the companionship that so many take for granted. In Twenty Minutes From Nowhere, his sheltered formative years give way to the palpable excitement of his first explorations of love. This intimate portrait narrates the struggles and the thrill of seeking companionship and finding oneself after years of being alone. 20 Minutes From Nowhere premiered at Bewley's Cafe Theatre in Dublin, IE in November 2021.

The ‘94 Club

"I don't know why but you make sense. And I'm pretty sure I make sense to you too."

A group of teenage girls are playing with fire after they create a dangerous game for themselves that rapidly spirals out of control. The '94 Club explores gender politics, sexuality, coming of age, queerness, and the harsh realities of growing up in a small town.  The '94 Club premiered at the Tarragon Theatre in Toronto, Canada, in May 2018.
